At The Maids of the Western and Southwestern Communities, we work hard to provide you with the highest quality clean available. Our qualified staff of professional cleaning team members and management are here to help you and your family enjoy a cleaner, healthier home. We started our business in St. Louis Park in August of 2003, bringing people just like you a unique method of deep, efficient housecleaning, and we welcome the opportunity to serve you and your friends and family the way we have since day one – with quality customer care and deep, healthy quality cleans.
We started our business in 2003 while I was looking to make a career change. After 15 years as a human resource professional for The Quaker Oats Company, Barilla Pasta, Michael Foods and Marshall Fields, I was looking to leverage some of the skills I had gained in manufacturing and marketing companies in an industry closer to the consumer, and dedicated to being the best in its industry. Barbara is a co-owner and provides accounting support to the business, as well as working outside the business full time as a social worker. We are both 1980 graduates of Beloit College, where we met, and have 3 children.
Lori Tapani is our Customer Relations Manager and she is often the friendly voice you hear when you call. Lori can provide prospective customers with price quotes and scheduling their first clean and help current customers with changes in their schedules or cleaning needs. Lori works with customers and our team leaders to deliver outstanding service.
We presently have 6 teams of 4 that clean homes, apartments, condominiums and offices Monday through Friday. Each team has a team leader. Our teams are uniformed, bonded and insured. All payroll taxes and insurances are covered. Employees drive company cars and are fully trained on our 22-Step Healthy Touch® cleaning system. The foundation of our success has been our outstanding employees and their willingness to adapt to our cleaning system. We differentiate ourselves in an industry known for high employee turnover with outstanding employee retention. You will see the same faces everytime! The majority have been with us over 3 years and many for 5 and 6 years since the beginning years. The most frequent compliment we receive is about the quality of the clean, the next most mentioned is the quality of our employees. Our employees are paid competitively, offered medical and dental benefits, and paid holidays and vacations. We respect our employees, and use non-toxic chemicals for their heath and yours.
Our cleaning services are based on the backbone of The Maids’ cleaning regimen, our unique 22-step Healthy Touch® cleaning system. We use only environmentally-preferable cleaning supplies and state-of-the-art equipment to remove more dust, dirt and other allergens than conventionally cleaning practices. Nobody can outclean us! We do things the “old fashioned way,” including cleaning hard-surface floors on hands and knees, and we add personal touches to our cleans that let you know we care about you and your home.
